Masking Class

I went to a masking class and was taught how to use them right and how to finish the layout off with a mask.

Found this interesting and fun to do as I have never done this before it was something really new to me and the teacher Simonne who is a Design Team Memebr for Scrapping Around
did a great job of teaching me I really enjoyed this class

Found you need time and you also need to have a great creative mind and you need to play with teh mask before going ahead with where it needs to go on the layout

This was a really fun class to do and yes I will do masking again one day

RETREAT share

Billy Can
Billy Can was made by sanding the suface of the lid and painting it all over when I took the photo light wasn't right for the lid so will upload that later on
I covered it with card stock and paper then added flowers and bling till I was happy with the design.
adding the ribbons was fun and I used ribbons from swaps all sorts of colours to give the tin a happy look
I still need to add my name and some other bits but apart from that it is finished

Scrapping Around Retreat

Had a wonderful time at my 1st retreat every and can't wait till the next one

we boarded the plane Friday the 19th and landed at 11am for a fun filled weekend and came back to Tassie late Monday night .Luke was happy as it was school holidays so it ended his 2 weeks off great

I have some thinsg to share which I made whle away was pleased with them all as I had never ade these types of things before

Cong's goes to Luke for being a Junior Design Team member .He was so happy when I told him he had been asked to be part of SCRAPPING AROUND .

Mt Paris Dam

over the hoildays and weekends we often pack a picnic and tour our local bush land this place is not far from my home town and it's a great place to take the boys back into the Bush to enjoy the beauty of Tasmania
I enjoyed doing this layout and use some new supplies from Scrapping Around
Marcus sanded the paper for me as I was cooking tea he said that looks nice card stock I said yes but it could be sanded to show the colour underneath, the result was a light shade of blue showing through
I like the way my photo captures the water flow even though it was the middle of summer in the native bush land there was enough water flowing for all wildlife and plant life

Circut Expression

My husband brought me this machine and I love how it cuts and howal my things come out looking great, the more I play with it the more I'm learning it can cut different things ,being abl to press buttons an it knows exactly what I need it to do making my scrapping and card making so much easier

Colour Competition

boy time has gone

well with work and family things I haven't been here for a while

just a update for you all

my soon hasn't been to court but the other person has and it's an on going case

My husband has found full time work and I have gained more hours in my work place

It changes a few things for me a there have been things I haven't done before and will be learning more about these areas , still doing cert 4 in small business management and adult ed course which has been fun

weather in Tassie is cold at night but warming up through the day and if you get in the right stop when sun is shinning down it's really nice.

all the males have had colds and have now got over them but it took time to disappear , colds/flus seem to come so quick but take ages to go away

I'm really looking forward to next month when I fly out for a few days my hubby may not be looking forward to the trip away as I usually bruise his knee caps as I don't always like flying so I hope it's a nice day

well I better go and start getting things ready for tomorrow it never stops in our home and there is always plenty to rattle on about if you like to read my blog I'll give you all something to read about

take care everyone - remember a smile can make someones day a happy day

Happening at last - Re Aussie Mateship post

Well going back to the Aussie Mateship thread I placed up here awhile ago about my son being hurt and others helping him because of their bond through Mateship we are starting to get answers

The case is starting to go through the court here in our town and the person has been charged they need to go back to court in the coming months but at last we have action on an awful deed that wasn't caused by our son

Hopefully he will be able to get on with life and live it to the fullest as anyone can

I believe with all my heart we are placed here for a purpose in life
weather it be to rasie our own children
to make some one smile
to help plant a wonderland for all Creatures Great and Small
to be involved with community members that make us become out of self

I also believe when your life's work is done you will be taken from here and be given the rest you deserve so much

Sometimes it is hard to do your best with what life throws up at you but through what has happened to my son I know now he has many friends from all over teh place mayb more friends than me who are willing to help if the need every rise's again

why because it's ---- say's his friends to me he wouldn't hurt a fly he is fun , harmful type of person and I can't but feel a since of pride to think we as his parents have brought him up in a good way so that he will be a true gentleman at heart

no one can get through life with out a friend of some sort

I will leave you with these 2 quotes one a general quote one a bible verse

Some friendships do not last, but some friends are more loyal than brothers."
- Proverbs 18:24

Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."

photo time

boy I haven't been here for a longer time but
I know have new photos to share with you all will find them tomorrow night after work and post
Do you know what this is ?and no it's not a UFO. I was walking home from the footy ground where I had taken profile photos of 2 players with my camera in hand I set it to the candle setting and aimed at the light.
It is actually the street light outside my place that guided me home in the dark it was only 6pm
There is a certain glow that the camera picked up and now I want to take more photos with my candle setting to see what I can achieve with my photos. I didn't go to any fire works this year but if you did and have photos to share send them to me and I'll post them up on this blog for you to share .

School Holidays

My son has laid around the house and not getting up till 10am or later
ohh to be on Holidays and no school is great when it's all wintery outside

He has done so much over the holidays that time has flown and it's almost back to school for him . It's been a nice spell not having to do lunches and make sure homework is done on time.

My other son spent his 1st week donw at Tafe we live about 4 hours away so he caught the bus Sunday and got a ride back with a friend. Which saved us petrol and money in the long run

He goes for 2 weeks on Sunday and hopes to stay with family on the central coast which will save him lots of travelling and us as well

It was interesting when he went we all missed him and I got used to the quiet and sleep ins because normally he needs to be taken to work which is 5;30am start for us all .So it's really nice when he goes to away for a bit I get to sleep in longer

As soon as he was home the noise level picked up and we knew he was back don't you just love the noise's boys all make together

It's mine no it's mine , I brought that no mum did

makes you wonder why they do this and yes there is a reason for it all

1 they are both different
2 helps them to have conflict that they learn to sort by themselves
3 it's there way of showing love to each other
4 what esle is a younger brother for

well I'll leave you to ponder on these points

Amazing Scrap Race

Amazing Scrap Race is in full swing at Scrapping Around and the ladies are creating some great layouts to be judge. Must say teh judging is very hard and it's great to see so many having a go and stepping out of their comfort zone

Art Weekend

long weekend in Tassie for the Queens birthday

I enetred some photos in the a photo competition and my son won $250.00 he is over the moon

I also spent the day in church hall showing my skills as a scrapper and it was interesting to see how many people came through the doors who where scrappers or card makers

Every person had there own way of doing things and it was great to share with these people

Thankyou to all teh people who commented on my ablum and my work it was a pleasure to show you all what I do as a scrapper .

I do hope to go next year and maybe I'll have lots more to show and teach every one

One of the things that people where interested in today was Chipboard, paint and kidy Glitz and what you can achieve with them all

For me on a personal level it was great to share with others who enjoy paper crafts know that I can learn from them and they can learn from me

I also made some scrapping friends who would love to get together for a lesson or just to scrap on a weekly thing . Which I'm looking forward to as I don't belong to any group in my local area

Anyway I had a great day out scrapping and sharing my skill and would encourage anyone to do teh same if they get the chance to display there work go for it because so many new doors open for you as I have found out today

I have a new site which I have started this last week for people to join Scrappy Time
